Default forged rotating assembly

Ok, I'm the new guy here and this might seem like a really silly question. I'm building a 347 stroker (possibly a 331 stroker since I hear it's more streetable and last longer) but haven't decided for sure just yet. Anyway, between the 331 and 347, do I absolutely need a forged crank, connecting rods and pistons? I don't plan on doing any racing of any kind. I will however get on it a little bit, but only rarely (I take care of my things) So, I realize that I'll end up with a fair amount of power and the bottom end should be built to take it. But it'll be going in either a kit cobra or a '65-'66 shelby clone that I'll have to restore. With the money I save by not going with forged parts, that's another $1000 I can invest in the car. It won't be driven much or hard is the bottom line here. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I like forged pistons and rods. A cast crank should be fine for your application.

Good news, I saved a bunch of money by not buying forged parts. I'd like to have them for the piece of mind, but for how I drive, ie no drag racing, it seems like a waste of a fair chunk of money. A performance engine shop told me the same you guys did. Thanks a lot guys!
