Default Fuel Pump Question????

I have been looking at fuel pumps to put on my Street Beast. I am running a 302 with E303 cam, Y303 heads, and a yet undetermined fuel injection system. Every fuel pump I seem to find says "not recommended for fuel injection". I know that a lot of the pumps are "in tank" type for FI but I need a "non in tank" pump for my system???? Any help would be appreciated. Also, any recommendations on what FI syatem to run and what size injectors and air flow meter???? Thanks in Advance...>Earl

Hey Earl, is your 302 still turbo? You might wanna give some of your stats so the FI guys can help you out more....

As for the fuel pump, you can get a bunch of FI pumps from Jegs......

I'm looking at a couple right now for EFI made by Aeromotive, Holley, and Mallory. The one from Mallory flows 100GPH @ 60psi.....It's $219.....

If you have a Jeg's catalog, look in the fuel pump section and then you can also look in the Mustang section. In the Stang section, there are some pumps by BBK that are reasonably priced also.

Get an FI system off of a 5.0 Explorer. They flow very well. Change out the injectors to 42# and get an 80mm Pro-M mass air and 80mm Accufab throttle body. Don't forget to port-match the intake with the gaskets.....takes time, but worth it. You will need to get a Tweecer RT system to re-calibrate your EEC or you can have your dyno guys cut a chip, but then you're locked into one setting.....the Tweecer is a better way to go.

Good Luck

BTW,
Aeromotive makes great in-line pumps capable of handling up to 1000HP

Walbro makes a good in-line fuel pump for EFI applications. I've got a Walbro GSL392 pump - http://www.autoperformanceengineerin.../ext_pump.html

Make sure you buy the correct fittings with it because the pump has British threads.

You'll also need an in-line pre-filter and an in-line filter.

Here's my setup:
