Help-Thoughts: Webers & 351W/427
1 Attachment(s)
I am exploring the possibility of moving from a proform 870 w/Victor Jr intake to a Weber setup.
The following web site has a VERY good price on a complete setup: carbs and manifold. http://racetep.com/weber/v8webnew.htm Has anyone used this setup? Are you happy with it? Will it match up with no mods to 185 AFR heads? Any input is appreciated!! Thanks, Terry Brown SPF 930 351W/427 (w/NOS) |

Terry, one of these days I'm going to go down the same path. I've researched both, and with the proper tune, the Webers will be every bit of stellar as the EFI. Obviously the EFI utilizes modern technology to achieve (arguably) better fuel mixtures. But I personally don't want to have to mess with an ECM, a different fuel pump set-up and return line to the tank, etc. I believe the car is old fashioned and the Webers are part of the aura. I applaud those that have the money and expertise to dial-in the 8-stack EFI set-ups. I guess call the Webers a poor man's EFI. :D
-Deano P.S. I'm going to have to stick to my Mighty Demon for now. Convincing the Mrs. that I need a $3,000+ "carburetor" is not going to fly at this time. LOL |
