Default ford lightning blocks

Hey gang are the lightning blocks aluminum? Any opinions of these blocks?
My BDR 211 will be here in 2 weeks with a 408 lightning block. Vic jr intake and Vic jr ported and polished heads.

No, only the heads

I think the Navigator come with aluminum block and Four valve head's

Are you thinking of the early Lightnings? They had an iron block 351 windsor. It would be a good modern roller block to base a build on. The later 2nd gen lightnings are what most people thing of, they have a completely different engine that wouldn't fit into any cobra ;-)

Both generation Lightnings used iron blocks.

Hate to burst your bubble, but there is absolutely zero difference between a first generation Lightning block and the standard truck 351W block of the same years.

The difference in a Lightning 351W and a regular truck 351W is the heads, cam, intake, and fuel injection system.

BTW in '94-'96 the Lightning had a flat tappet cam (but had a roller capable block) where the vanilla truck engines had roller cams.
