Default 427W. Opinions please

Hi guys.
I'm in the UK and would really like to build a 427Windsor stroker engine for my next Cobra. Ultimate power is not the goal, rather a mechanically quiet, smooth tickover engine with lots of torque.
Do you guys have any suggestions?
As I'm not intending to use silly revs or after huge BHP, would one of the I beam 427 kits on ebay (with a set of ali heads) be suitable?
My last stroker (331) just had an edelbrock performer plus cam in it and I was quite happy with the way it ran.
Any advice (c/r etc) much appreciated.
Thanks
Simon

If your not after alot of horsepower go with the 408. You will have a motor thats going to be more reliable and have a much better rod ratio.

I love my crate engine its a FRPP 450 HP 342 ci w/ Holley 750 cfm double pumper. Any Dart Block built 427 would be capable of over 500 HP on 92 oct unleaded premium.
