Wink carb tuning

Hello, wanted to see if anyone out there is running an Edelbrock carb ( mine is a 750) on a 408W?? Having a hard time tuning it since I stroked it from 351. Please tell me what rod/jet combinations are working for you. Thanks in advance.

P.S. 351W stroked to 408, comp cams retro roller cam, edelbrock 750, Weiand Stealth dual plan high rise intake.

Here's what I suggest:

Unbolt the Edelbrock, remove it carefully and THROW IT AWAY!

Get a Holley double pumper, Demon or AED carb.

Humbly,
Roscoe

If you are running low vacuum at idle you will need to drill some holes in the weights on the air valve on the secondaries if you are getting a stumble when you stand on it. Also make sure the unit doesn't have the notorious crack in the bowl area.

What problems are you having?

Having one myself I can tell you this: The first extra $400 I have is going to Don for a Demon and the old is going on Ebay - No reserve.

If you follow Roscoe's advise which I agree with,I do have one thing to add, after you remove the E-carb and before you throw it away, lay it on your driveway and take the biggest sledge hammer you can find and hit it squarely on top as hard as you can, then throw it away............

You will have accomplished 2 things; 1. relieve the stress of having it in the first place and 2. keep anyone else that may pick it out of your trash from having the same trouble...........

Default carb tuning

Just wanted to thank everyone for their replies. I didn't realize the Edelbrock carbs were such junk, don't feel so bad beating my head against the wall with it. Will definitely be making a call for a Demon. thanks again.
