Just go to Google and type in Cherovlet Firing Order or something like that.

I only remember 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8 on a Ford FE

I think you guys are confusing this poor guy with all of those numbers..... it is:

1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2

I repeat

1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2

It is 18436572

The number one plug location on the distributor is usually toward the front of the engine.

Also remember that a Chevy has it's cylinders numbered differently than a Ford. Chevy put all the odds on the drivers side and even on the pass. side.
Numbered from front to rear on drivers side is 1, 3, 5, 7 and passenger f/r is 2, 4, 6, 8
