New user with a dumb question. Day one, new (old) block comes home and the numbers are E7TE with a CA below. From what I can find, it is a 1987 casting that should have gone in a light truck. Does the CA indicate Canada?, and does this mean metric threads?

With out seein the casting, I'm guessing it is a suffix code indicating the changes from the initial E7 casting. The E7TE is the prefix code that is followed by the center code (4 digits indicating engine plant) and then by the suffix code. Since all engine blocks use the same center code many times they aren't cast in.

After a good cleaning I found that there is a 25 above the E7TE and the CA is below. On a tag next to the number is 6F26. Stamped on top the block is HY613340.
