I'm still waiting for my syncronizer so that I can get them in sync perfectly but I have had no problems starting & drivability, Even though not perfectly tuned yet, seems fine. I have set the idle for now & the mixture. Once I get out of the idle circut things really smooth out & take off but the idle circut seems to suffer just a bit & I think it due to thing not being in sync. Once that is smoothed out I expect they will be even better than before. The 600DP Holley was a great carb but i can already feel the difference in power & accuracy to each cylinder.

Did the center pull linkage come with your Webers? Mine have have the drivers side mount and I have heard BAD things about this.
Tell me about your cam and heads, also ign. timing. What springs are you using on the MSD? Also I can't tell from the photos are those 2" stacks? I have the same manifold, did you use the inline thermostat?

Yes I did use the inline thermostat from Wilson Manifolds, pictred here. There are many detailed pictures in my gallery
The linkage from the crank to the carbs came with the setup & can be used as a sidemount or center pull. I was also warned about the sidemount so didn't even consider it. Not sure why it doesn't work though.
My cam is a Nostalgia Plus Hydraulic from Comp Cams & my heads are mostly stock 1965 with screw in studs & roller tip rockers. The MSD is stock out ot the box. I haven't changed anything yet & haven't had a need to mess with the timing yet either.
The stacks are stock also. I have some of the red caps on order for when it's not in use & I am on the lookout for some type of filter for long road trips.

Great!! Glad to see you made the jump. Looks super.
After trying a variety of air filters these seem to be the best for me. RamFlos. Had to machine the front sets to drop them enough to clear the SPF hood (older hood). I added filter " oil" to increase the stopping power.
They come off pretty quick if you are going to a show.

Those look nice. I really like the "No Filter" look but know it may not be in my interest full time. Problem being nothing really looks the same as open webers. Was wondering if there was sort of nylon mesh or breatheable fabric that is fire retardant that I could make some elastic bound covers out of. My main concern really would be for a chunk of something to get down the throat of one of the carbs.

I have been looking at the stack systems myself. I also have heard good things about superchargers. Anyone care to comment about which is best and the pros and cons of each?

Pluses: major eye candy, crisper throttle, noticeably more torque
Negs: $$, gas mileage, smooths out a lumpy idle
The only other point...it can take a while to get them dialed in....about 9 months for me. However, no further fiddling has been required. I check the sync (15 minutes) and the idle mixture (5 minutes) a couple of times a season.

They also give a more even mixture across the cylinders. On a single carburetor manifold for a V8, the middle four cylinders are always running a bit richer than the outer four cylinders.
The Webers provide each cylinder a more uniform, typically better atomized mixture which makes more power and allows you to safely run with more compression and/or spark advance.

traindriver - The eye candy is obvious! Just out of curiousity, what kind of torque increases? Does anyone have any numbers to show what increases at different rpm ranges?
yetiman - i assume another option is dual carbs? although, how common is that with the smallblock?
