Default 302 bolt pattern for '66 vs late model

Does a '66 302 block have a different bellhousing bolt pattern than my late model roller 5.0 block?

I need a blowproof bellhousing for my 5.0/Tremec 3550. I found a good deal on a Lakewood toploader bellhousing that came off a '66 302. Just wondering if it will fit my block?

The 302 production startet in 1968. If it's a 1966 engine, it must be a 289.
The bellhousing will fit a 5.0 block as long as it has 6 bolt holes. Early 289 blocks used a different bellhousing with 5 bolts.

They went to 6 bolt in either '64 1/2 or '65, so if it is a '66 Bellhousing you should be fine. I'm not up on the changes ine Blowproof housings, but if it was made in '66 wou might want to see what improvements have been made since. It would be a shame to buy it and have the expectation that it will protect your lower extremeties and then have it not be as strong as it could be

Default Bellhousing

Woodz428,
Thanks...it's a Lakewood blowproof bellhousing, used but in good shape. Just wanted to make sure it would work with my block. It's a toploader version so I will need to get a McLeod spacer plate for my Tremec 3550.
