Default 351C, 400M ballance?

Are the 351C, and 400M internally or externally ballanced?

I've been through all my books putting data into a single spread sheet for all Ford pushrod engines, and I'm missing these data points. I wanted everything in one place so I could compare.

Thanks

The 351C is externally balanced - it takes a 28oz externally balanced flywheel. Check me on the exact weight, it's twenty something ounces, I'm ALMOST positive it's 28, but I could be off an ounce or two. There's only two weights used in the Ford family that I know of - 20 something ounces, and 50 something. The 351C DEFINITELY uses the 20 something, and I'm almost positive the number is 28 oz.

Thanks 767Jockey. With the other SB it is 28 & 50, as you said.

So, all small blocks both Windsor and Cleveland are externally ballanced.

Can't speak to all of them, I just bought a car with a Cleveland in it, and I'm learning more every day. Chevy's sure were easier!

Yes, but ..... The SB 400 was externally ballanced and the rest internally ballanced. No warning stickers when they first came out. You could bolt the wrong ones on and not know it.

Most things are harder if you don't already know it, and screwed up stuff don't seem that bad if you know about it.
