Default 351w induction options

Hi all,

I'm after EFI but in the old look

I'm currently running an Edelbrock and Holley with a 150lb NOS set up. My aim is to remove the lot and add a EFI.

However I like the down draft trumpet look but in EFI if available.

I know these are not EFI but this is the look I'm after. Clearance is also an issue.

What are the manifold options etc. Injectors into Webber look alikes options etc..

Any thoughts on possible suppliers and web. sites...

I'm in the States two or three times a year at events, so can ship to Az. and bring home on the plane or 're pack' and ship back to Australia.

Thanks for any leads or ideas.

Bernie

TWM makes an IR injection system. They are an advertiser on this site.

Default Injection

I'm running the Roush 402IR - it uses the TWM injection with ACCEL electronics. Nice look and it runs great. Photos in my gallery.

This is from Momar EFI , marketed by S&S Automotive , here in Colorado. The computer is from Haltech , which is an Australian company.

The throttle bodies are billit alum, and more closely match the dimensions of the Webers. Billit alum doesn't change shape when hot; cast bodies sometimes can do that. It is more expensive than others.

Another excellent source is Wayne Presley at Very Cool Parts He's in AZ. The throttle bodies are cast, and much smaller. He uses a differant computer system, which sound likes it's much better than Haltech.

Regardless of who you get the stacks from, get Wayne's manifold. Head shoulders above any other I'v come across.

Quickjack, nuetoy

THanks for the lead to TWM. I did not check the suppliers site out here.

I do have limited under hood space so will do some measuring and send them details.

Thanks again

Bob

Thanks again found the Momar Inj. and checked it out. I'll make contact to get some height dimensions to see if will fit.

Looking at the manifold etc on the photo it does not appear to be high.

Tried the Very Cool Parts site but did not get a site. Checked Google and didn't find Wayne either.

I'll chase Hershal or Mulv from the Arizona forum to see if they know the site.
I'll 'Post a "thread' over there.

Cheers

Bernie

Try www.verycoolparts.com

Wayne Presley is a well known builder and supplier with an excellent reputation for parts, service, and after sales assistance.

Bernie,

I have the TWM setup on a 351w stroker I can give you heights to the top if you need them.

Rwillia4

Rob that would be good if you could do that.

Thanks.

I'm about to look at the TWM set up now on your engine in your gallery..

Can you drop a right angle from the top of the trumpet/airhorns to the top/highest point of the rocker cover. Your covers appear to be the same height as mine. Make sense..

Thanks again the engine looks great and the look that I'm after. Guess I'm a little sick of the roughness of the current setup and it's dog like carry on in traffic etc.

Bernie,
Get in touch with Peter (SNAKEN) on CC and see where he got his setup as the cross trumpets have a lower profile.
8 trumpets
Cheers,
Bryan

Thanks Bryan,

Yes spoke to him up at The Picnic at Hanging Rock show. Doug has also done one or two Cobras this way.

I'm after the retro look though. Vertical trumpets/air horns. Think that the TWM will clear the hood easily. I currently have the Edelbrock and Holley and they are of a similar height I think. Have some measurements on the way I thinkfrom 'Rwillia4' - Rob.

I have been on the phone to Trevor S. in Shepparton today and it appears it is cheaper to buy from the USA... Will see what Trevor comes up with next week also.

I will possibly just buy in the manifold and 50mm EFI and use a local Motec or Autronic..

It looks like all of these setups run without any kind of air cleaner. Is that correct?

Tommy

Some of the options that I have looked at have small aircleaner pods on each airhorn.

I will possibly run a fine mesh and small filter on each. Not sure yet. I may just place filter material in the front of the scoop in mesh, as the only bits I find in there now are bees and bugs. I stay off the dirt roads etc.

On the track, I use open velocity stacks. But for the street I use oval K&N filters. They are a little restrictive, but that's OK for the street. The "Tea Strainers" normally used on the top of velocity stacks will keep out the big rocks and grasshoppers, but that's about it.

This is my car with the K&N filters.

I saw this car a couple of years ago. I think this big filter is available from TWM, but I'm not sure.

Hi Terry, I am looking into an installation in a SPF coupe like you did for your roadster. I assume that since you are in N.C. that you went through Olthoff for everything? I have driven one such install in the yellow coupe they had, but I am interested how you like yours. Let me know about driveability and such. How are the folks at Olthoff's to work with. I am in Ohio and have been working with Dynamic, but heard so much good stuff about Dennis' group.
Thanks,

Larry

Bernie,

Have a talk to Corey from Katicore Motorsport. They do this system for the 351 Windsor. I reckon it would be the business on your motor and it's only AU$3300. Australian made too.

Cheers

Larry,

Yes, I went thru Olthoffs - can't say enough good things about Dennis and the guys there. I've had mine 2 years, about 6,000 miles. I really like the response and driveability of the injection system.

I'm using individual K&N filters - see my gallery - plenty of clearance.
