The 1011 was one of Fel Pros original HP gaskets. After it was on the market a while it was determined that the stainless hard ring around the cylinder was causing aluminum heads to Brinell an created an indention where they contacted the head. The 1011-2 was brought to market to combat this situation. I has a pre flattened copper backed fire ring to help eliminate this issue. They are much easier on the head surfaces.
