Default Main seal or oil leak

I have an oil leak (and always have). It looks like it is coming from the rear seal but I'm not sure. The leak only occurs once I have been driving it or the engine has been running. Which makes me wonder if it is a leak from oil under pressure (like the remote oil cooler adapter which does look moist but not dripping wet, yes, I would tighten it but I can't get another half turn out of it without grinding off the corner that is causing a metal on metal contact with the block). I'm talking about a 3" diameter puddle overnight then it stops. It has also leaked while driving leaving the bottom of my car a mess.
Do rear seals leak sitting static? or am I chasing a leak that has traveled to the lowest point on the engine that looks like a rear main seal leak?

We've always found the culprit to be a valve cover gasket. Take a good look at that. You can always try the UV and dye setup to really debug it.

Every oil leak on a SBF always ends up on the block plate. It always looks like a rear main seal, and often is not. Could be something as simple as the oil pressure sender port, or the damper pulley.

Go to NAPA and get a dye kit. Fleuriscein dye for the crank case, and a black light. Clean the engine really well and let it dry. Put the dye in and let it run for a few minutes. In a dark garage, look all over the entire engine with the black light. Keep doing that until you find the leak.

A local mechanic here in CO has a leak detector. It's a simple machine that makes an oil based smoke. Plug it into someplace simple like the dip stick tube. Where the smoke leaks out is where the oil leaks out. Finds the leaks in about 10 minutes.

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I will try the dye kit.
