Flywheel rubbing against block plate.

My flywheel (McLeod- 157 tooth, 28 oz) is contacting the block plate (Lakewood plate, late '70s 302 block). I installed the flywheel hand tight, turned the crank and can hear the flywheel rubbing.. Will the installation of the bellhousing take care of this problem or do I have to get the plate completely flush with the block before going forward? Also, ARP says to use 30 wt. oil on the flywheel bolts and torque to 80 ft-lbs. I thought I should use blue loctite. What do you guys use on the bolts? Thanks.

Put the bell housing on and see if that clears it. There is nothing to hold the block plate in place until the housing is on.

ARP recommends oil so you get consistent torque readings. Personally I like to use the loctite as the lube when torqueing those.
