Hi, vector1.
As from the pictures I see you run a dry- sump setup on this block.
And the Dart block has 4 bolts on all 5 mains?
I run a World aluminium block, and I have been looking around for a drysump to fit this application. Have been chatting with Armstrong Eng. to find the right pan, but I haven't found anything to rely on. I'd need a really shallow sump to clear the steering.
What do you use????

yes on the 4 bolts on all mains. i used billet fabrications http://www.billetfab.com/pans.htm
they will make the pan to any depth. since the centerline of my crank is 6.5" from the bottom of the chassis i had them make a 6" pan. costs lots of american dollars though so be prepared. the scavenge tubes go to rt rear, rt front, and left rear. the rear bolts on the pan are accessed through the 1/2" npt threads at the back of the pan and take a little finageling, i used two allen wrenches welded together since a socket will not fit through. jeff johnston will answer the phone and make it however you want. was told two weeks but took a good month and couple phone calls.

i couldn't figure out where to plumb the pressure line and i really didn't want to run it around front since the whole clip is made to shear on impact so i kept it inside the frame proper from the pump through the filter to the pressure side.
the scavenge lines came out pretty well, the rearmost had to go back and around the tranny or there was no way it was going to fit. should of been a scavenge fitting on the driver side of the pan.
because of the electric coolant pump i couldn't hook the alt. upright and had to drop it down which put it in the way of the inlet so i had to turn the pump over and reroute the lines. worked out good and will see if it actually works.
the oil is not cooled now being there are going to prob be over 12 qts of oil. if cooling is needed later i'm thinking of putting a oil to water heat exchanger on the outlet hose off the engine.
most of the oil lines were purchased off ebay in bundles at bargain prices and i'll turn around and sell the ones i didn't use. it's those little fittings that add up like the 60*-12 i needed to make things work at $30+.
the dist. has to be r & r'd for the efi.
just a little fyi for the fun times.

initial fill took almost 3 gal. of coolant and 9 quarts of oil. pumped the oil through the system with a drill off the pump and looks like there is room for 4 more quarts at least. oil showed through all the rockers, so far so good.
waiting for efi programming and a few last minute wire hookups for which i'll have to pull the dash, mount the seats and should be done.

Great progress on the engine, thanks for the pics. Tight fit with all that stuff inside the tunnel, but looks good.
What color is the car.....hard to tell from the bits of it that show....

the color is black with grey stripes. but with the new hood and possibly rear fender work pending the color could change.

looking at a small through the hood problem here. could take out the spacer but it would drop only 1".
finished at last, nothing to do here. will probably see in the next week if it is going to run, in the meantime, looks real good. gotta dig that homemade alt. bracket.
i know it's not small block, but just have to install the seats here, everything looks to be done. little polishing wouldn't hurt. the dash is split just right of the steering column so i can take it out easily, not bolted in now case i have to reroute wires. with the wires using plugs it is easy to install and remove. it's the fasteners at the top inside that take finageling.

late night wtf am i doing up in the middle of the night update
well, it runs, so far. after all the prestart checks and what not and a few hiccups it fired right up. one problem the dist. gear wasn't installed far enough on the shaft and was bottoming out on the block turning the dist and timing off, other than that it would have started up i think. efi is niiice. i think i would go out of my way to use it if at all possible. the a/f ratio is lean enough at idle i didn't get my eyes burned out and acceleration off idle during warmup is good. primed oil with drill and belt was easy enough, running press was 50 cold and dropped to 25 hot at idle, don't know what hot pressure at higher rpms will be yet but i put one turn on the screw. checked the screen on top of the tank to see how much debris there was, and i knew there would be some and it wasn't bad, but looking at that stuff knowing how careful i was and it is still there.....plus fuzz & lint. initially the solid roller valves were set at .006 cold but when checked hot were still too much. adjusted hot and on cool down clearance was .002 neighborhood, since that is the thinnest feeler gauge available, so that is what i set them at, .002in/.003ex. will prob check again sometime and see how close i am, guess some have to run them at 0 clearance cold. with the stud girdle it is kinda tricky cause everytime i tightened it down the clearance would change but figured out i could put 10# on the girdle nuts and still turn the adjusters tapping with a hammer. think we'll have to iron out some of the efi stuff with a tuner.
next step, it's hittin the road.

Anyone running a ManOwar by World Products?
Need some crankcase evacuation....
Does anyone know if there are some plugs in the block intended for this use?
There is 1 small plug (3/8"?) at the drivers side, at the rear, maybe one at the drivers side as well, but out of reach.
It'd be beatiful to use this foe ventilation, But it may go into the oil gallery (perssurized...) or to water. Does anyone know?
Is the only option to drill & tap???
I sent a mail to World as well, hope for a good tip from'em.
