I went down that road with mine... 12.5 : 1, C113 gas, fun to drive but a pain in the a$$ too. Soon dropped down to 10.5 : 1, changed the cam and can now pump gas, lost about 100hp but picked up a little more streetability and i'm sure some longevity and better relliability.
I did keep the external oil pump and electric water pump, coolest running Cobra I have ever owned.
