I've used 3 CVR starters and I like them a lot. They're inexpensive, can turn up to 14-15:1 and they are small. In addition, you can rotate the starter body on the base so that you can position the terminals/lugs where you want.

Get as much high torque a starter as you can afford. One other thing to consider is that most stroked Windsor motors run happiest with 10-12 degrees of initial lead. So that alone makes the motor a little harder to turn when starting.

Or you can go to your local parts store and get a starter for a 94/95 Ford T-bird, specify a 302 V-8, manual trans. (assuming you have a manual trans.), they are the small high torque starters and run about 80 bucks..(rebuilt unit)......been spinning over my 13.5 to 1 compression 331 stroker in my race car for three years now with no problems.......a racing buddy has the same starter on his high compression 600hp stroker motor, he's been using this starter for 10 years now!!!!!!!!!

It's the exact same starter you see advertised as a Ford Racing Performance starter for 200 bucks..........

On my street car (351-W) 10.5 to 1 compression, I've got a $19.95 Auto Zone standard/stock starter, no problems with that one since 1996!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the Best Starter I have found for a 351W --was the 1995 COBRA R Motorcraft

Available from your local autoparts monger
