I agree with the one piece push rod suggestion and having someone help you measure. Manley makes good push rods and they seem to be OK on the money -
ARP studs may not be a bad idea either , it may just be a bad stud. -- remember of your pushrods if too long or too short can also accelerate valve guide wear.

as mentioned above, there are probably several issues you need to address. Go step by step & make sure each component is fitting correctly before going on to the next step in assembly.

I updated the Pull it thread here is the update on the push rod-stud problem.
After reading all the tips and searching the INTERNET. I bought harden push rods (stock length) like I should have. New ARP studs. Kept the stamped steel guides.
I reassembled the heads with the new studs. As I snugged down the studs I centered the rockers on the valve stems adjusting the guides. I rotated the engine over with felt marker color on the stem. Now the rockers are centered. I didn't realize that the guides holes that the studs go thru are over sized and adjustment are made by loosing the studs and re-torquing.
Over the weekend I've run some 50 miles and all looks good. I pulled the valve covers and no wear on the push rods.
I hope this help someone who might have the same issues.
Ron
unfortunately, life is a series of lessons, many learned the hard way. Good luck with your re-rebuild. I've got the same scars you do, only in different places.
