Default Assault on Cars & Coffee Irvine - Saturday, March 27

Hey So Cal Cobras,

I've arrange a small group of us from the North OC (Yorba Linda/Placentia) to meet early and thunder in together to C&C Irvine (off the 405 at Alton Pkwy). If we start on time we should arrive around 6:45am.

Would be great if others could join in. At that hour we will probably park towards the back of the lot so we're all together.

Hope to see some of you there!

-Dean

For those in North OC that want to join our little posse, we are meeting/leaving at 6:15am at the Taco Bell located on the southwest corner of La Palma and Tustin Ave. This is at the Tustin off-ramp from the 91 Freeway, just north of the 55/91 interchange.

Default 6:15 am

Don't stress if 6:15 AM seems too early.
Dean is usually late. Like 6:16 or so.

I might arrive at 6:13:30 from the back entrance, sliding sideways Tokyo Drift style.

See you then!

I'll be driving in from South OC. I will meet you there at 6:45 ish! I'm looking forward to meeting the North OC posse! I lived in Yorba Linda for several years, so I think I can claim honorary membership to your Thunder Posse; however, I will not have the advantage of starting out at Taco Bell!

Jim,

Looking forward to seeing your all-aluminum beast! Whoever gets there first saves some spots.

Looking forward to seeing all of you there! Just remember that the City of Irvine has asked nobody to drive into or out of the event along Irvine Center Drive past those apartments between the 405 and Alton. We don't want to cause the show to shut down. Folks coming down the 405 can exit at the 133 (second ramp) and take the first exit. It will take you straight into the show. Leaving, you can go through the Spectrum and access the 405 that way.

Thanks for the heads-up. Or another route for those coming in from Huntington Beach or South County would be to come up the 5 and simply exit at Alton. It's 100% commercial properties there. Plus if you're driving southbound on the 5 you can announce your arrival.

David, we look forward to seeing you there. I have seen several weeks at C&C where there are 7-8 Cobras, but they usually enter sporadically and are spread out all over. Hopefully we can get a gathering in one spot. Arguably better to meet there at 6am, but we'll plan something like that once it warms up a bit. Don't worry too much about your neighbors...the roosters will be working around the same time.
{hint: I usually fire up the car the night before and let it settle. That way at 6:00am it fires right up and I can idle out of the driveway and keep the cackle down to a minimum.}

My contractor is finishing driveway cement on friday so it will be too fresh to drive out of the garage with say only 18 hrs on it. I will have to pass. I will make it next time

Dane, sorry to hear about the delays but we'll catch you next time. Certainly don't need to leave any "snake trails" on the driveway, right?

Dane. Jump in the Rice Burner and get on down here. You can park in the back and still hang out! You can't let a little wet cement cramp your style!

We had four at the meeting point and I believe there were at least 8 at C&C. Billy (SPF), Michael (BDR), David (Kirkham) and I. We met up with Jim (Kirkham) at the show. David gets the "road warrior" award for coming up to YL from Huntington Beach just to join us! What I didn't anticipate were the 30+ mph cross-winds on the way home.

Trying to cut/paste a photo from cncpics.com using my at-home Mac. Go to the March albums. Here is a shot of David's polished Kirkham as we entered. That's yours truly in the red car ahead of him.
