Default California Registration

So I've just begun my (long) quest for a Cobra and was wondering what you all went through to get your vehicles registered. Any info would help. I've heard it's not too easy in California.

the other option is to buy an existing car with the SB100 exemption in place.

I recently purchased a pre-owned Superformance (in CA) that was registered as a "1965 Ford" and therefore did not require a smog check and it sailed thru CA DMV.

You need to do some research they are looking for cars that are registered that way

Bx1, Trctrdrvr is 100% right. To a search for posts/thread by "Morgester". After reading them, you might want to consider re-titling your 1965 Ford.

If it's not SB100 it's not legal. Like others have said I would look into it before the state yanks your registration.
