Default Welcome to Our New Group!

Hello! Welcome to anyone owning, building or wanting to build a Cobra.

The reason this group is being formed is to provide a local place for Cobra owners and interested people in the Grants Pass, Medford, Jacksonville or Ashland areas to meet and greet.

Dick Calhoun and I (Ivan Delman) have discussed trying to find other Cobra people in our area. This is our first step.

Dick is a top auto-cross driver and I am interested in cruises and gatherings in order to kick tires, tell fibs and share information about our terrific cars.

Dick has had a Cobra a lot longer than myself so we have the two extremes, a knowledgeable person and a newby. Anyone interested will certainly find a comfortable fit.

Personally, I think we'll all end up with some new friendships and appreciate more of the ones that already exist.

Looking forward to your posts and hoping we can get together soon so we can put a face with the posts.

Thanks,
Ivan

Best of luck with your new group. Hope you have a lot of fun with it.
A handful of us from Cascade Cobras will be down for the Medford event the middle of next month and we should be able to add significantly to your "fib" total.
You might also put a notice on the Northwest FFR forum since it's pretty active.

Boy you guys are sure bringing back some Oregon memories. Could be in the future I just might come rolling up in my ERA, asking, "Wheres the party?"

Graduated Ashland High, kin folk all over Grants Pass, Cottage Grove home town. I'm actually looking at property in Springfield, might just pull the trigger...

Excalibur...Springfield is less than2 hours from our area...If you're scooting around the area, send me a PM and maybe we can break a hamburger together. Getting island fever or new adventures?

If you're up in the Springfield area this summer (If there'll ever be one) maybe we can meet 1/2 - way perhaps near Coos Bay. It'll be a great excuse for a cruise.

Hi Don...I heard about the Medford Cruise (Car show). Is that what you're coming down for? I know nothing about the event. Do you guys enter the show or ?

Regards, Ivan

Ivan:
Here's the link to the Medford cruise. www.medfordcruise.com
Supposed to be a fun event. Missed it last year since I was enroute to LCS but those that went said they really enjoyed it.

Thumbs up Re Your Cobra club

Hi Ivan, Hi Dave from UK, I am currently building a Dax Cobra with a 545 big block (stroked 460) Ford, I have just returned from a wek in Vegas where I met up with some of the local Cobra guys, did the Shelby visit etc, had a great time, I have a lot of contacts on the 460 ford forum and last year met some people in SF, in Aug the wife and I are picking up a Harley from SF and going North up the PCH, my route will be taking in Brookings,Grants Pass, up tp Florence, Bend, South through Kalmath, Red Bluff and spending the second week in Tahoe, if there is anything Cobra wise going on around 14/08, would love to hook up with people, and say hello, I am hoping to meet one of the Norcal Cobra club members in Tahoe, regards. Dave

So is that like...SOCO?

Southern Comfort?

Great name selection, I am positive this will be the start of something grand.

Hi Dave,
As far as I know, there's nothing going on here around SOCO territory for August 14th...That being said, we are a brand new group still getting our "Sea Legs" so who knows what'll be happening at that time. Heck...I got my Cobra in April and just recently discovered where the ignition key goes.

We've had one meeting and met at one event (The Medford Car Show last weekend)

We are now getting ready to plan a SOCO run out into the Oregon countryside which may very well end up happening around the time you'll be in this area. I'll keep the SOCO site posted so you will be aware if you are in this area. Of course you are cordially invited.

The gang North of us (NW Cobra Club, Cascade Cobras (?) and the group South of us...Bay Area Cobra group) have been around for a while and are quite active...Watch their postings.

I had the pleasure of meeting Don C (From the Portland area) this past weekend. Aside from being a friendly fella, he is very active with several Cobra groups. You might want to look him up.

Again, if anything happens around here, it'll be be posted for you and we'd love to meet you.

In either case, have a safe and fun trip!
Regards, Ivan

Hey Trularin,
It used to mean Sensible Old Cobra Owners...That was changed to Smiling Organized Cobra Operators...Then to Sinful Openhearted Cobra Oldies but we finally settled on a geographical connotation.
'preciate the hello!
