List of Manufacturers
Every week someone asks which Cobra manufacturer is the best "at whatever".
I have created a list of Cobra manufacturers. So far, I have included:
* the web site address
* E-mail address
* Location
* Wheelbase
* Body style(s) available
* Basic dimensions
I did the list in Excel. This way, the web site addresses are active ... just click on the Web site address and your browser will open to that site. I'm sure it will make searching easier for many new Cobraphiles.
Just click on the link below and save the file to your computer.
http://home.comcast.net/~wtm442/Cobr...reliminary.xls
Latest file is Version 7 preliminary. I was amazed that very few manufacturers answered my request for dimensions. If your Cobra is stock, and there are no dimensions on the spreadsheet, go do some measuring and send me the numbers.
If you do not have the Excel program on your computer, you can download a free copy (Reader only) from the Microsoft Website
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en
Any comments/corrections/additions? Please advise
Note: The GT40 manufacturers is a separate file and it is posted on another thread GT40 Manufacturers List

You can attach a .PDF to a post..
"...Valid file extensions: bmp doc gif jpe jpeg jpg pdf png psd txt zip"
But, usually with .PDFs, the file size is way over the 40k attachment limit.
Do you have any web area yourself where it could be hosted as a page?

Ron
The Excel file is only 28 KB, but the PDF file is 62 KB .... and I'm sure its going to grow larger.
I do not have any web area, unless I can do it thru Comcast (I have cable internet access). But I did add a zipped copy of the Excel file.

I like the Idea! You could also add more columns with say type of kit (donor/custom),type or model of cars offered , base turnkey cost, Begining kit cost. I know this has all been hashed out before but it would be awsome to get a few people to hash out a project like this at some point. Add an auto filter & an enthusiast could narrow down his choices within a few moments.

Yep - but I only am familiar with two "auto filters". Oil and gas ...

Try this. Hope you don't mind, I modified yours a bit. This is just an example but y ou can click the little tabs at the top of each column & choose an option. At the bottom of the page you could have the models of the cars seperated. THe information is obviously incorrect just for example.

Huuuuummmmmmmmmmmmm
Hyde
Yep ... I COULD do that, but think about who the list is intended for ...
Are they familiar with Excel? Maybe. And to populate a hugh spreadsheet would take thousands of man-hours. I have Excel spreadsheets that have over 50 macro and thousands of hours of work.
I was thinking of something like you did with the drop down boxes, but I'm afraid that tons of work in Excel might be a waste of time for the people who are Excel ignorant. Maybe not?
But anyone can read a PDF list and click on tabs and go to the web site of that manufacturer. At least that will get the newbie to first base. Once we get to that point, we can maybe work on a grand-slam spreadsheet

I was kind of thinking that too. Your initial list is a great idea! Would surely get them headed off in the right direction!
If we could get a group project going here at some point I think it would be pretty easy to get the info compiled & imputted. If people are interested I'll be willing to help out. Of course the catagories to use will be the toughest part.

For now, lets just concentrate on the manufacturers and the web sites. I'm sure there are more out there that I missed. And probably quite a few without web sites ... so maybe we need to add a tel #, espcially for the companies without internet sites.
Let the comments and additions to the list begin.

Americar, Brazil makes GLASS cars, NOT alloy. At least there is no mention of any alloy car in the english language version of the web site. I don't speak "Portugese" but in THAT language on their web site is a picture of an alloy car. My guess is they made ONE, and if your Daddy War Bucks they might make another one just for you!
EDIT: By golly they DO make alloy cars!

That wasn't a complaint, more of a "Are they really in Brazil?"
