I'd guess SPF put the roll bar brace where they did so the top would fit w/o having a slit for the brace. Older Hurricanes were the same way until Mike and Rich changed it.

Nice work on the fuse cover. You can make cars anything you want within reason.

428street gets the credit for coming up with the idea. I "got on the bus" and did it myself after I saw how well it turned out on his car. Original Fuse box cover solution on ERA stock fuse block w/pics

Hey Ron,
Do you have any pictures of the original full width roll bars? I would like to see one.

There goes old faithful again.

Hey Patrick, if you're worrying about the fuse covers, you might want to change the roll bar to a full-width single hoop design like the originals Ron has kindly posted. Unfortunately, it require a little more investment in terms of money and time.

No, no, no... they're completely different. When I was spec'ing out my car I knowingly made several "departures" from the classic Cobra feature list. I did that solely because I liked the look better and, after all, the car's a fake anyway. Things like the dual roll bars, the glove box with comp dash, dual pusher fans, etc. are all clear deviations from the "classic norm," but each one, I believe, looks cooler than the other options, original or not, (others will disagree). The exposed fuses are just another feature that I have "tweaked a bit" to please my eye... and no one else's. And what is that ERAChas says... If thine eye offend thee

I actually prefer the look of the SPF roll bar. It's the SPF hood scoop that I really hate.

Classic. I bet the guys that own the originals probably say the same things..."Why the #$%&* did Carroll put that there?!?"

Just goes to show you it's all about perspective...and compromises.

That's another "departure" that I'd forgotten about. Some people love the rivet look, some don't. I honestly don't feel strongly one way or another, but just felt my car would look better without them. On some cars, they do look right though.
