Carroll Shelby Signature Glove Box Door
Can someone tell me where to get the glove box door with the Carroll Shelby signature on it?

John,
You can send yours to CS in Vegas and for a $250 donation to his foundation they will have it autographed. Given the # of requests that they receive, the actual sig might be an auto-pen version. But I'm sure you would get a certificate of authenticity.

Dean is correct; they do it thru the Foundation... and have a scale for non-car parts and car parts.
Details are here:

My glove box door was signed by CS (it was mailed in with the requested contribution). I often wondered if it was auto-penned or really signed by CS (the material says CS comes in and signs them). Since these things tend to fade with time in sunlight, my wife suggested I get another glove box door and have it signed to keep for a spare. I did and now I have two glove box doors signed by CS about a year apart. The two signatures are slightly (but obviously) different. So, I don't "think" they were autopenned.

The signature on my glove box looks much more automated than the one Carroll did on CSX2568 at Barrett Jackson over the weekend.
As I mentioned in another post, he almost missed the mark.

CS does sign everything individually. He limits his signing sessions so the quality of the sig doesn't change significantly. I had two items signed at the same time and they were different enough you could tell they were not machine. I've seen the area where stuff is lined up for the sessions.
(P.S. That's my picture above from the CSX2568 topic.)

I had to chuckle when I saw the photograph of him signing that dash. Here's a 100pt concourse restored car to the highest of levels, and there's the ol' Chicken Farmer himself scribbling his John Hancock across the glove box door (and then some) with what looks like a white tire crayon.
I guess the new owners were caught up in the moment with him on site and simply leveraged the opportunity.

He does a better job of signing the glove box doors when they are on a table.
That I can see - try writing your name on a vertical surface while sitting in
a cramped area like that. Nobody can read mine no matter what I write on.

I sent my air filter top to CS last year. I also included a silver permanent marker which I didn't get back in the box. The turn around was pretty quick. Total tab for the sig was $265. They also sent a CS catalog and a letter/card of authenticity. If I ever sell the car, at least I have the air filter top to mount on the wall.

Any guesses as to what this might add to the price at resale ?

On that car? If it were mine he never would have signed it.
I did send in my glove box cover (just to help the kids, you know ) a few
years ago and it has been worth every penny on the entertainment value of
just standing nearby during cruise-ins and listening to the comments like
"this one is real, see he signed it" even though the CR isn't even close to
looking like one. I think any of the originals do just fine without the autograph.

Personally I think his "autograph" has pretty much lost any worth in my book. What is the point if I can "buy" his sig? Big deal I say ..the man is a legend but .......Kinda lost its allure to me.
Just my 2 cents

I was told by someone who used to work directly for CS, and now indirectly, what percentage of the "donation" goes to administrative costs. It aligns perfectly with his current activities and reputation. He'd have to pay me to let him sign anything.

I do not think that having CS's sig on my glovebox has added any monetary value to my car. But as Flip says, it has added a new dimension to the "is it real?" question. I actually had one guy tell me (after I answered THE question) that my car has to be "real" or CS would not have signed the glove box. All you can do is shake your head.

You could do better and send him one from a Ferrari.

It's an easy enough signature to copy. Save yourself $250 and buy a silver pen.
