Default New Superformance Roller: What's this for?

I'm building up my drivetrain for installation in my new roller and was starting to sort out all the existing engine compartment hook ups. Thanks to Blas' really outstanding wiring diagram I think I have the wiring loom questions sorted out but I'm unsure of what the long plastic tube is for. It's wrapped up and secured to the driver side inner fender well near by the coil. It's about 3/16" OD. About 3 or 4 foot long plastic tubing with a yellow casing on the lower portion and is coming into the engine compartment from the dash area. Is this perhaps for the oil pressure gauge? Something else?

When you instal the motor change the plastic for brass. The plastic tends to leak at the fittings.

Or replace it with an AN line. I battled a leak on the engine side for a while, then replaced the Teflon hose. The fitting on the gauge side is not standard (British Standard Pipe Fitting).

Best way to access back of oil pressure gauge

You will need a six foot lenght of #4 braided line with the proper fitting to do the job correctly.......

Thank you all for the very useful information but I think I'm going to go with the Superformance factory line initially and then change it out down the road when necessary. Notice I didn't say "if" necessary.

It is easier to change it now, rather than later...

Tim,

One other note. When I tried to repair the fitting on the engine side, I found that the nylon hose diameter on my car was not standard (i.e. I couldn't find the correct knurled pressure washer replacement anywhere).
