Radiator and oil cooler rock guards
I noticed that SPF offers rock guards for the radiator and oil cooler. Good to have or no? What do they look like?
thx

If SPF sells it its gonna be way expensive. Try GC Performance Cars in KY. which is selling the radiator screens for $35!

Make sure whatever you install is strong enough to keep a Moose out of your radiator or cooler. HARRRRR !
Maybe small rocks and littlel animals is the best you can do, very important and will save you lots of bucks.

Just disconnect the oil cooler. It doesn't do anything useful and then you are rock-proof

I constructed my own oil-cooler guard with stainless steel wire mesh, aluminum strips, and pop-rivets. Look in my gallery for pictures. Came out great.

It's basically an aluminum window screen frame with metal screen cloth. Then you stick velcro to both the radiator and frame and stick it on. Comes off easy to clean. You could get all the stuff at the hardware store and make it yourself. Not sure if it is any different now. I bought mine a few years ago.

Pricey Yes But!!
Mattpatt, A bit pricey is right, but have you priced a new radiator or oil cooler?. I got mine from Olthoff Racing. Had it installed and also bought one of those $35 "screens" to keep the bugs out, attached to the rock guard with Velcro to make it easy to remove for cleaning. The Superformance/Olthoff Racing screens are built very well and would stop a lug nut!!

I did the same a scooter and it's real cheap. I did make to brackets that I riveted to the screen frame, the I used the two threaded tubes that were already welded to the radiator.
This is what we use on the sprint car and would work great also.
$15.00

apx. $20.00
I use this if I'm traveling on the highway because of the HUGE amount of summertime bugs.
