Default Approved shoulder harness for NASA event?

I'm looking for suggestions of NASA HPDE approved shoulder harnesses for my Superformance?

I currently have the stock 3" SPF belts and the 3" DJ Safety Y shoulder harnesses that I purchased from the SPF dealer. My car was tech. approved for HPDE from one of the listed tech stations, but when I arrived at the NASA event they told me I could not get on the track (HPDE) with the harnesses I have.

They refunded all my fees, but I want to be able to track the car in HPDE the next time around.

I'm looking for what kind of shoulder harnesses other has used in there SPF's that have participated in the NASA HPDE events?

Thanks..

When the disqualified you, did they tell you why? The reason I ask is, there are two reasons I can think that they would send you home - belt design and belt installation.

The Y type belts can't be used in competition anymore. I'm not sure Simpson even makes them anymore. The shoulder straps need to be individual straps, not joined into a Y.

If you have low back seats, and the belts are in the stock location, they attach too low for safety. In carsh, they will crush your spine. Go to the Simpson web site. They have good diagrams on how to do the install.

The reason I was disqualified was the shoulder belt was a "Y" belt.
The event I was signed up for was the HPDE groups which is non-competition and non-timed. Just open track time.

I recall seeing "somewhere" a harness bar that mounts to the roll bar on an SPF. This should satisfy NASA.

A lot of companies now sell the V belt instead of the Y Belt.

I had a conversation with the head of NASA today and the "V" type shoulder harnesses are not acceptable. They require each shoulder strap have and independent mounting point.

I will check with NASA if they will allow the warp around style suggested by bobcowan.
