Default Replacing Parking Brake Pads

Does anybody have any tricks on replacing parking break pads. They are the drive shaft ones. I can get one side out and changed, but the one that is closest to the transmission doesn't want to come out. I can't seem to get enough clearance between the pad holder and the disc. I don't want to take all the support brackets and drive shaft out. I have otherwise disassembled it, but can't get enough space.
Thanks

Hmmm... don't recall exactly how I did it, but I was able to replace the pads without removing the brake assy or the drive shaft. As best I remember, I had to loosen every nut/bolt on the brake assembly to get enough clearance to r/r the pads. So I suppose this is mostly moral support - keep trying, it can be done.
Be sure to readjust the parking brake once the new pads are in. It's a fairly tricky process, which is detailed in a procedure in the SCOF tech library. Follow it exactly and you'll be happy.

Thanks. I'll keep working at it. Worst case would be to just use 2nd or 3rd gear and park on level ground. That is what I have been doing but thought that since car was up on stands for routine maintenance then I would address this issue. Not making much headway though.
