quicklifts, bumperettes or hoops?
Looks like the most popular option is quicklifts which I really prefer the looks of. Anyone got experience with damage with this and the other options?
thx, mattpatt

They said if I had quick jacks instead of bumperettes it probably would have saved the front end.......
Neither offer any protection what so ever so put on the ones YOU like.

Had the hoop on front with the bumperets when a friend backed into it with a 40 Ford sedan. It pushed hoop back over the front about 4 inches and broke the fiberglass. His car actually had more damage to it than mine with his left rear fender and rear body panel smashed. But it's well again. AND he is still a friend.

Wow, that is an ugly wreck. What kind of speed was involved? I can't help but think that if the hood had come through the windshield............

If you value your shins, forget the quick jacks!
Every time you walk around the car you will bang your shins on the damn things.

The only problem with Quick Jacks is you have to explain to EVERYONE what they are.

I have a set of bumperettes on my CRII. I was involved in an accident (involving 4 cars) with car #3 being pushed into the rear bumperettes. Before I got out of my car the one thought that went through my mind was; "bumperettes are useless!" Imagine my surprise when I found that the bumperettes had taken all the damage and NO fiberglass or paint suffered any damage. The front 5 mph bumper of the Civic was heavily damaged.
I guess I got lucky again.

Quickjacks and shins? Kinda like sidepipes...how many times are you gonna get burned? I would suggest all three and change them out whenever you get the urge. No, I don't do that but I have thought about it.

If you want the racecar look go for the quick jacks.....

Kevin,
Note that not all manufactures have the same bolt pattern. You might want to mention the spacing between bolt holes.

Kevin,
I know that the Classic Roadster is 3 1/2" between centers. Not sure about the rest.
I can send you a 3D solid model of the ones that I made and you can adapt them to your requirments if you want.
Take a look at MaSnaka's Photos (page 2 under new quick jacks). He has mine in polished stainless on his. I have not uploaded my pictures yet with them on my CR.

I've got overriders on my car with a rear bumper and am going to put a hoop on the front shortly.
Those quick jacks are just too hard on the shins
