SPF Bras
I bought the SPF Bras from Hillbanks. Opened the box and was impressed with the quality. It is thick, It will protect your paint!!! Instructions are not included, but after discussion and surfing the web you bend over the little metal tabs. The top has a pillow that fits in the seam between the hood and front cowling.
It fits tight, tight, thight which is what you want in addition to fitting as perfect as any bras could possible fit, only thing that would fit better is paint. Does it look as good as paint, no, it is a bras, does it protect better than the paint film, no doubt. I have it installed and will see how it wears, i dont drive in the rain, my car is usually 99% spotless so I may not be representative.
To install I recommend the following:
1) Bend all tabs completely over with a tight radius
2) Install on front, getting both side even.
3) Get a buddy and have them hold the hood open while you push back hard to get the pillow in the right spot, it will be obvious and then have him close the hood slowly and let it cook in the sun to stretch a little. Do not get the hood in a bind when closing!!! If you are by yourself then you will have to do the hood force and good luck stretching that thing on. I am sure it can be done.
First on impresson on looks was it looks good nothing compared to paint but in 15 minutes I was like, wow, that makes the car look so much more "race" as opposed a shiny show queen. To be honest it has really grown on me!!!

By the way the metal tabs are covered in thick fabric/felt so it is impossible for them to scratch the paint.

I will I need to take some pics. It only 100F and 95 percent humidity in this swamp. I'll try to shoot some tomorow. right now gotta get another cold one and try to drown this heat

As with any of these protective covers, dirt behind them will work like sandpaper and if they repeatedly get wet (rain etc) they can discolor the paint beneath them... They should also not flap around in the wind causing chaffing on the paint. But they do great job preventing rock chips and bugs...

This thing is TIGHT, if it flaps around it will be because the car got in an accident and split in half. I agree for a dailey driver probably only good on trips for the reason you mentioned. For Cobra which get few miles per year, I do not feel it will be an issue. I dont know about the rest of the country but Houston roads are littered with gravel. Nobody has figured out that when the shipping ports are made of gravel roads and 1000's of trucks go into and out everyday the rocks get in the trucks treads and then distributed on all over the roadways, not to mention the torrential rains which flood every ditch onto the roads depositing debris and the never ending road construction. it is no less a small mirical I have not developed rock chips, then again I am tired of driving early in the morning and never on the freeway. My others car look as if a machine gun has shot at it.

Just an update:
The bras has officially paid for itself. I have racked up a couple hundred miles and it is perfect. I visually saw a rock bounce down our crappy roads in Houston and smack the sheet out of it. I actually saw where it made a mark on the bras and scuffed it. I was so lucky it did not hit high and skid across the hood. I pulled the bras back and the paint was PERFECT!!!!!!!.
If you own a spf you have got to get one. I doubt I will ever take it off unless I am washing the car or taking it to a car show.

Just be careful. I used a bra years ago on my Z-28 Camaro and it eventually ruined the paint under it. I would always remove the bra when I washed the car, but you can't keep the dust and grit from getting under it. And I don't think you can get one tight enough that it doesn't vibrate and rub your paint. I'll NEVER use one again.

I agree. There is not a bra out there that will not damage the paint at some point in time. I would rather deal with the rock chips.

This is the produce I used. 2.5 years and no issues or chips. I would never use a "bra" on any of my cars. I had one on my 82 Audi GT Quattro and it destroyed the paint, oh and it was a fitted bra and was very tightly fitted, stained the paint after just a week or two on the car.
