It sounds like they swapped out the gauges for improved lighting.

I'm sure it's a beautiful car, but you're going to pay a premium buying it from a dealer. Have you been looking on Cobra Country as well?

BTW - I did a quick Google search on the chassis number. It looks like it was on an auction site at one point. No details, but the search summary on Google showed the following. Minimum bid was $60,000, auction ended.

"VIN Number: SP02781 Search year: 1965. Vehicle title: Clear Minimum To Bid: 60000.00"

I did check cobra country and have been talking with these guys. I have the impression its an auction car as well, since they couldnt tell me any specs until yesterday.

The motor is what I am most curious on, and how they could prove it is a roush 427. When I asked, I got a pic of the spark plug wires saying roush. Ha, they are just out of their element.

I cant be sure but I think that car came out of D&M motorsports , you might want to give them a call and see if it did , they seem like a reputible SPF dealer

agreed, what would you feel is a reasonable number. I've been tracking numbers on cobra country for a year, and they are all over the place.

Not trying to avoid the question, but it's worth what you are willing to pay for it. If it's the car you cannot live without, then it's worth the price you will pay, and you will be happy.

I know, not much of an answer, but it's the best I can do.

In my case I had a price I was going to pay and no more. I told them right off the bat what I would pay. After the salesman went back and forth 3 times, the owner of the dealership came out. I had met him a number of times over the years as I had looked at the cars, and he told me the best they could do was $114 over my offer. That was close enough for me. Could I have gotten another car cheaper? Probably. Would it have been the car I wanted? No.

Wow, dual quads. It looks like brand new. I am very curious to know why it only has 200 miles as well.

A friend of mine sells trailers. He had a customer that wanted to return a new trailer he got for his new cobra. The guy said the car scared the crap out of him and he wanted to get rid of the car and the trailer. Maybe its some strange circumstance like that??

This is probably not an issue, but I couldn't see seat belts and the "Hot Exhaust" warning labels were missing. Maybe the guy didn't want the labels and you just can't see the seat belts. I've not seen many SPFs without the Smith gauges and the two oil gauges are over on the left together is non-standard. I didn't know Roush provided dual quads. The air cleaner covers are not Roush. The rubber heater hose looks out of character when EVERTHING else is very nicely braided steel covered. Even the radiator overflow line! The chrome fan motors are nice and it looks like a very nice SPF Cobra cover in the trunk. The Shelby valve covers makes me wonder if it is not an alumnium block, yeah baby! Since the rollers come with different gauges, who's to say the original speedo didn't have a few 1,000 miles? Mine is 2608 and was assembled in June 2007. The $60k price for a dealer is cheap. Most late # SPFs can be in the $65-$70k range. If you can get them under $60k you are doing well in my opinion. These cars can be had for $50-$55k, but you have to be a shopper and patient. If you are willing to walk, the dealer will come down in price. You have to go to Florida or at least have a Club Cobra member drop in on it. if it is a Roush, the heads will say ROUSH on the front side of the heads. You can go to my blog and see exactly what the original owner paid to build my 2608. How can someone have a once in a lifetime car and sell it with less than 1,000 miles? The spouse, lost job, expecting a factory made vehicle with A/C are the excuses, but the cars are out there. Mind had 1,700 miles in March when I bought it, but maybe it had 4,000 miles. It is not like the odo is sealed!

You can see a seat belt behind the passenger seat. I too have trouble with the 200 miles unless this car was built to make money........I changed out the gauges on spf 0995 but not the tach or the speedo. my two cents

Changed mine to Autometer Cobra gauges. all of them. No bouncing needles and I can see them at night.

I don't think miles on a Cobra are a big deal and would rather have a well sorted car then be the test monkey but .....how many miles were on the Smith gauges when they were swapped for Autometer gauges ?

Beautiful car, just make sure you really want black. Arguably, the best color IMHO, but a whole lot of maintenance.

Could be a 427 SMALL BLOCK, with pentroof covers. NOT an FE, center plugs do not point towards each other!
