Ford 5.0 "Coyote" in Superformance MK III
He is the first 5.0 "Coyote" install in a SPF MkIII chassis. It fits, drives and looks pretty neat!
One more choice we can offer from Superformance.......

Does the Coyote come with a computer chip and OBD-II interface technology?

Looks like Superformance is leading the way (at least in the replicar market) in offering alternative, up-to-date "green" powerplant options. Might not please all of the purists, but it has to open up more markets to buyers that don't necessarily want to tune but just want to plug and play. Doesn't look all that half bad either, though all that plastic covering is a marked change to what is more traditional. If Big Brother keeps getting his way, all new Cobras may have to go this route.

I know a Coyote has made it into a BackDraft as well. I'm a big fan of EFI engines like this in classic replicas! Great mileage, unparalleled reliability, and awesome power & torque for the weight!

The ECU is an additional package that Ford Racing sells. It provides a harness with the connectors required to make it "work". Of course the exhauts must have O2 sensor bungs installed, etc.
The "Coyote" prep package is optional on the SPF MK III.

These motors look like they were designed for these cars. I have a picture I'll find of one dressed down old school. Looks like a SOHC with Webers. Smoking deal on em

Rick, what's the hood clearance like with the Coyote underhood? Will it fit without the hood scoop? This looks like it could be the perfect motor for anyone looking to go with the clean street Cobra look.

Thanks!!
Alot cheaper than I thought it would be!!!! This really puts a new twist on powertrain options. So for about $9K you get everything down to the remote oil filter adapter if you choose. Where were these option when I was buying!!!!!!!

The chassis has already been built for a "modular" motor. The coyote uses the same mounts. The factory is working on the exhaust system and such.
Like I said, if you want one.....

How long until they come out with a 7.1 L Coyote? I don't suppose you can put that wiring harness on a 427 very easily unless you are a high tech operation.

Can you plug an outlet into the wall. The wiring harness would be a joke, it is plug and play. Besides the horsepower rating a little "low" it is an incredible package. Compared to a carburator the driveability would be incredible.

I said it before, the production beauty cover on top of the engine looks like cheap plastic that would not have been available in the 60's. I still love this engine, and can't wait for someone to offer a nice looking engine cover.
