Your car looks great, Ron! Let us know if you're planning on going to Hardees for the Triangle Cobra get-together.
Are you going to put filters on your Webers?

100 mile report
So 100 miles on the car...
Loud (wow, those are poor excuses for mufflers)
Thirsty (think sailor in a bar on armed forces appreciation day)
Confused (can't find the high beams and no idea what 1/2 the switches do)
1964 brakes (no power assist, too big of a master cylinder)
So, more freaking fun than the law ought to allow!!!!
Crazy fast, crazy raw, crazy fun...
Best,
Ron

Ron,
Mufflers? You got mufflers? We didn't send no steenkin' mufflers!
Thirsty? Gee, eight barrels of Webers couldn't possibly have any effect on that, could they?
Half the switches don't do anything so just use the ones that make stuff blink, flash or whirr!
Stairmaster? Heck no, we got a brake pedal! Remember this is from the age of Iron when men were men and sheep were scared.........
Drive it in good health and have fun. Your new blank dash panel is on order......
and the high beam switch is on the backside of the turn signal stalk. Squeeze it like you love it. Did you never drive a 60's VW beetle? 'Cause that's what the switch is from.

Congratulations on such a special car. A question I have is, where is the pickup point that delivers water to the aluminum tank that sits in front of the motor?
Regards.

The much better mannered than I was led to believe. I haven't driven the car hard yet so I can't comment on the performance, but they do not hunt on the freeway and they don't have any ugly manners when cold (that I can tell). I also haven't had them in the rain (and not likely to), so can't comment.
The size is 225 on the front and 275 on the rear. The 295s on the back rub and just look wrong.
Best,
Ron

Great Combination and Color!!
Ron,
Do you know the color you ordered? It does not look like a standard color, and it really looks great in every photo.

Ron's car is Superformance Viking Blue. Here is another FIA in the color...

Kurt is right, photos can be very decieving. depending upon lighting, camera, etc. the same car can look very different. And the color saturation on your computer screen can vary quite a bit also.
Real, live color chips are the only safe way to judge a color.

I can't really judge the accuracy of the color, but everyone comments (loves) on it. I did have a guy who said he was on the race crew for some FIA cars in the 60s (have no idea if he was truthful or not) who complimented me on painting it "the original color".
To be totally honest, everyone loves the 289 body style, people really like the color, but the webers make grown men drool and stammer.
Best,
Ron
