For what it's worth, I opted to swap the bypass with one of the heater hoses per SCOF instructions. It works perfectly - no heating problems. I also made sure I had a vent hole in the thermostat (top). My engine is a DART block 351W based 427.

Hey, sorry I just saw Akfish's request for pictures. I'm traveling and will try to post pictures next weekend (March 3). I did the same as Mattpatt on my bypass. In the Northwet, you want the heater to get hot first!

Hey there, I believe the problem you are running into is basically fitting any kind of fitting with hose out of the top of the water pump while using the "thick" billet water neck. I have seen some people grind away the housing, but that is not the right way. The correct method is to mill down the spacer in order to clearance the fitting. I can get into more detail if you want, pm me.

One port goes to the heater, the other goes to the thermostat housing, what exactly did you do again?

Rather than running the intake manifold outlet to the heater and the thermostat neck outlet to the water pump I reversed them. The intake manifold now runs to the water pump (easier routing) and the thermostat bypass outlet goes to the heater. Seems to work just fine.

I have uploaded pictures of my thermostat bypass to my Club Cobra photo album. I think I have labeled the photos correctly. The intake manifold outlet goes to the water pump and the thermostat housing outlet (thermostat bypass) goes to the heater coil under the dash board. The heater coil return goes back to the water pump. I think this is the same as Mattpatt described. if you go to my album there is a description of the picture in the name.
