Well, the 289 street car is in a container and somewhere in the mid-Altlantic right now. Due to hit port May 8th so we are "GO" for Carlilse display!

Test drives available if we can get enough people to push while I go "Vroom!!!"

Look forward to seeing a lot of you there......

Beautiful car and not a bad price, how hard is it to ship to the USA and register?

If you are talking about importing an "AC" or a "Superformance" from the UK as sold there, it ain't happening! They are complete, driving cars as sold there and as such are not importable into the US unless they are fully certified and meet all current FMVSS and EPA regulations. That is why all legal units sold in the US are sold as "rollers or kits" for completion by the purchaser or a third party. There are some "dealers" who are violating this rule but it seems the chickens are coming home to roost on this matter.

Obviously, the MkII’s can be purchased through other Superformance dealers. But it appears to me that Time Machines is one of the few dealers that has a regular presence (information, support etc…) here.

I’m really surprised how many people notice the original chassis on my FIA MkII and want to know more about. I think it makes the car a little more interesting - IMHO

Kurt trust all goes well.
Just to clarify things. Unless you take the body off,you cannot tell one from the other.The Chassis remains the same visually but has some extra brkts welded on to hold the ZF in position.There are numerous benefits , CV joints instead of the knuckle type being just one of them.
I personally agree about having the salisbury set up and that is why we started off with that,but since Superformance started marketing we have found very few BUYERS actually care.So we now have the best of both worlds. You want original? You got it! But standard it comes now with a ZF. NO visual change except if she is on a lift and no change to suspension or anything else.
So in fact nothing has changed except original is now an option. The logistics of supplying salisbury diffs to cars going to Europe proved to be expensive and the newer ZF is preferred by that market.
Your car is amazing, Well done and look forward to seeing and meeting you two someday.
I also agree re Time Machines.

Hi Ross,

Thanks for the kind words; we’re looking forward to meeting you as well.

What sold me on the MkII series is original style chassis. The Webers will draw people to the engine bay but the 3” round tube frame rails and leaf spring suspension seems to really hold their interest.

I'm looking forward to hearing some of the feedback from Carlilse....

We will have a Superformance 289 FIA at Carlilse also! So both street and race will be on hand for inspection.

All day long taking turns pushing up and down the driveway while the driver goes "Vroom, Vroom!!!!"

Dang, I'm tired!

Roy, the "Powerplant" in the engine compartment, is an original 289 owner. His car is still in his basement awaiting restoration. He does however also have a Superformance 289 MK II FIA that does run and is driveable.

I still don't know who the fat b@stard leaning on the fender is.............
