Superformance Brake Light Switch
Ok, starting to have trouble with the brake lights staying on.
Where is the switch and what do I replace it with. My car is number 2932.

Hi there,
The brake light is controlled by a pressure switch on the master cylinder.
It is an Audi part (I will look for it and report back). Carefull when removing as you will get a drip of brake fluid.

It's not on the master cylinder. It's inside the footwell.
Anyone know the replacement part number?

Yes, it's in the pedal box and positioned so the brake pedal activates it. Sorry, my wiring diagram doesn't have a part number. You might be successful in removing the switch and looking for a number and/or taking it to your local parts store to find a replacement. It's a very simple device. Also, if you haven't considered this, it may just be loose or poorly adjusted. If it's too close to the pedal it will always be on. Like the switch, the adjustment is simple - loosen the nut and slide the switch closer/farther from the pedal to get it to activate where you want.

Thanks, I'll try moving it. Right now, the brake lights stay on sometimes and if I poke the pedal, they go off.

Also check the pedal return spring to ensure that the pedal is returning to rest against the stop.

You were correct!
Return spring for the brake pedal had loosened up a bit.
Tightened the spring and all is good now.
