Note that the 427 body style refers to the CID under the hood, not the block. If you want to be boring but correct you would have a 427 BB under the hood. If you want to trump boring and also be correct you would have a 427 SB under the hood. The number "427" by itself is meaningless, when associated to Shelby's intent in '66 to develop the most powerful high-performance roadster he could, then you have meaning. With today's replicas how do you meet Shelby's intent back in '66, you replicate the 427 body and put a 427 SB in it

Good point, Cycleguy, after getting a nasty snake bite on her ankle, my granddaughter seems to think my roadster is more appealing than my S/C.

But what about the tears in the kids' eyes when you open your hood at car shows and they see that it's "only another small block?" I'm sorry but I just can't do that to them....
