Can any kit be ordered without the side pipe opening?
If you have your wife order either type, it will automatically come with rear exhaust.

ERA, Superformance, Kirkham, Hurricane, and some Shelby continuation cars - either offer an undercar exhaust model or have it as an option. I don't think FFR offers an undercar kit on their MkIV but several owners have managed to install undercar exhaust. You can ask the manufacturer to not cut the openings for the side exhaust if ordering straight from a manufacturer.

Superformance builds both the "slabside" with rear exit exhaust and the "427 MK III Roadster" with rear exhaust.

The Roadster does not have sidepipe openings however we do not offer "kits", all our products are unpowered rolling chassis configuration.

Prior to owning my ERA Slabside with exhaust exiting in front of the rear wheels I owned a Lone Star with the same type of exhaust. When ordering from Lone Star I asked that no openings be cut the for side exhaust. That was no problem.

I will be converting my 427 MkIII from side pipe to underside exhaust, for a few reasons: snakebite for me, the wife, and curious kids is no good. My car will be getting a Lemans hardtop, further exacerbating the potential for snakebite. The drone at highway cruising takes the fun out of the driving experience. I don't like having to putt through town to prevent car alarms from triggering. It's simply too damn loud, I'm not 22 years old any longer. My privates are not deficient, so I don't need to compensate. :-) Lastly, I prefer the sleeker more European look without the side pipes.

I put my car on my lift to do a preliminary design. It doesn't seem difficult at all to pull this off using the existing headers. I'm lucky in that I have a fully equipped welding shop, so this will get done. I will document the project in a separate thread as soon as I gather the parts and get this going. Stay tuned, but I may not get to it until winter, I want to continue driving the car this summer.

So what are you saying about the 99% here that have side exhaust?

I found one...no side pipes, roll bars, racing stripes, lettered tires, hood scoop..

Love it....the age appropriate gentleman's Cobra in British Racing green...

Default Mk III Roadster w/undercar exhaust

I had the ends cut and rewelded to point straight back. Blacked out all but the stainless tips.
