I need asome advice, please.
I would like to sell my car, SPF 2729. I would like to offer it at a fair and reasonable price but I have no idea what that price should be. Any input will be appreciated. My ad is listed on here in the cars for sale section. Thanks for your input.

Bob,
I would suggest taking a look at similar cars on both this site and cobra country and then pricing your car accordingly. You are entering the beginning of the slow season for cobra's, but that does not mean that you will not be able to sell it right now. A lot depends on how reasonable you want to make the price, picture quality and competition in the market place.
Good luck.

Well, IMHO I believe your car is priced to sell assuming no issues of any magnitude. Were it mine, I 'd likely price it low 50's and get serious just south of 50 unless you are motivated to sell it ASAP. Engine choice is a mild negative vs say an FE but the later chassis number with updates is a nice plus.
You should really consider Cobra Country with a nice suite of camera shots as good shots really help and your color visually pops.

Your car is priced to sell. Pay an experienced photographer (one who knows how to photograph cars) a couple hundred bucks and you will sell it a whole lot faster (:

$43k? What am I missing? I would have said mid 50's.
I see factory fives regularly advertised for more.

I agree the ask is too low. I don't think you can recreate that car today for that price.

Auction prices, Barrett Jackson, Las Vegas
I saw several Cobras go up for auction this past weekend in Las Vegas and all hammered in the thirties. They were nice cars, comparable to mine but the prices seemed soft to me. Is this a good indicator of the market?

IMO, Yes, the market right now is a bit soft for Cobra sales. I know because I sold two premium examples this season. Many good cars that are priced fairly have had difficulty selling as quickly as they may have a year ago. It is an election year so things may change up/down next spring. Right now we are entering discount season for most buyers even without an election. If you want to sell your car quickly your asking price is fair, but you have to lay out all the details and maintenance done to inspire confidence with a potential buyer. Your miles are higher than most you have been finding advertised but that isn't a bad thing to an informed buyer if you can rest him at ease with the details he needs to make an informed purchase. Pictures also go a LONG way to selling a car to a broad market so don't expect to sell a car without good photos.
Looking at your ad again I would have some important questions you need to address upfront which affects value/confidence:
1. Is your engine a Roush? This was a popular engine for your car. Not that it's better, but it does command more money. Who assembled/built your engine? Was it a new engine build, or based on used/seasoned parts? Do you have dyno sheets to back up your power claims?
2. Tremec 5 speed: Is this a TKO 500 or TKO 600 or just a basic T-5. Big difference in value and capabilities for the power you are advertising.
3. Who completed the final assembly, and what has been done since 2007?
Again, your color and stripe combo may be appealing to some and a deal breaker for others. It's imperative that you get the photography correct for that color or it will look bad to those who may be on the fence. It's a tricky color that changes a lot in different lighting. Good luck with the sale. If I were near you I would certainly offer to help you out with the photography.
Troy

No, the auction market is often full of curve balls.

You will need some pictures that show the car off, but IMO, you have it priced to sell without all the BS....good luck....bart.

The TV auctions are NOT the place to sell a replica Cobra. Bottom feeder bidders only. Cobra Country, this site and the SCOF site will bring real buyers who pay fair money.

My car is titled as a 2007 Superformance Mark III. I live in a county in Georgia that does not require emissions inspections. Since it is titled as a 2007 a lot of areas of the world require certain emissions standards and of course my motor is built to earlier specs and would probably not pass the test. The year of registration severely limits the market for my car. I checked with the DMV in Georgia and there is no way to change the title to an earlier year. That is the reason for the lower than market price, not the condition of the car.

Well it is your car and you can price it as you please, but you are leaving money on the table. That is a mid-fifties car all day long and will sell for that if offered in the right venues. The "2007" title is not the big value detriment you may think it is. Many states register as "year of build" as opposed to "year of replication". One of the great entertainments to me is all of the "Cobra 427 S/C" replicas registered as a "1965" when the "S/C" did not exist nor was sold in 1965!

Bob, just post decent pictures and your car will sell very quickly at that price.
