Default Whats broken or missing here?

So my speedo stopped and looking at the back of it the cables there and spinning but somethings missing. Looked all around cockpit, under seats, mats and can't find any parts floating around.

Tried finding some schismatics but no luck showing that part. Any help would be great appreciated.

That's a speedometer reverser and 90* adapter. You're missing the drive gear.

Anyone have a pic or link of what the gear looks like. Could it be hiding behind the dash? I looked pretty good and can't find anything. How does a gear just disappear... hmmm

Are you a SCOF member? There is an article on repairing the reverser. The gear is held in by a "plug" that has popped out. The round plug and the gear are there somewhere, check the return flange on the dash bottom.

I was going to say you should be able to track it by the grease spots on the floor mats/carpet - but that looks like it's been running dry.

I searched again this afternoon. Absolutely nothing anywhere. I am stumped. Looking for replacement now.

The parts must be in there somewhere, or they BOTH bounced out over the back of the car.

Possibly the car behind knows?

Seems the design has the drive gear loading against the plug.

They could have designed it with a circlip as well.

Parts are not available, just order the unit from Summit or Jegs and be done.
