Default SPF Seat Track

Greetings,

My son just bought a SPF Cobra. But the original owner secured the seat to the floor.

Does anyone have a seat track available? I can order from Hillbank but they are grossly expensive.

Thanks

Jeff

Does anyone know if you take the seat track out of a SPF Cobra, can use the same holes as the track was bolted through the floor to bolt the seat down?

Depends on how the fixed seat was modified. Easiest way is to add a flat bar in place of the sliding mechanism and then positioning the seat where you want it and attaching that flat bar to the existing original bolt holes because they are reinforced. Fixed seats are usually done to lower the seat for tall drivers. You can also adjust the tilt of the seat by using spacers in front.
A great way to not look like Magilla-Gorilla if you are a big guy.

I did a similar thing to what Blas described with the race car. I could not use the standard seats, had to have race approved seats, so I used some flat bar stock to keep the seat low, used large nuts as spacers so that I had room to work underneath the seat and used the existing holes and supports from the underside. I think that I may have had to drill one or two additional holes due to the race seat being of a different size and construction. But was still able to use the mounting supports.
