I have the removable muffler section. The muffler type referenced by the builder was 3" though it would be difficult to measure an exact internal dimension given there are rows of louvers inside. The internal louvers point forward, no packing. I like the turn out to be level to ground, but if you wanted you could point them around in alternate directions.

I can tell you for certain the Buckshot Racefab side pipes are faster and they are louder. I don't think it's possible to use the word "best" for anything under the sun, though I'm satisfied with the product and I'm very picky and analytical.

I took a number of months to thoroughly understand the impact of the side pipes from many perspectives. For testing I used corrected numbers from load bearing dyno, inertia dyno, G-tech Pro Competition with computer acquisition software and trap speed corrected to sea level for comparison between the Superformance and Buckshot Racefab.

May not be an issue for you since you have a BB vs my SB. My mount was actually cut, shortened and rewelded.

I used Stainless Specialties for my LA Exotics. I just sent them one of my rusted out steel units and they copied it. They'll make it up any way you want it. Cost was $1900 a year ago.

They look great and I don't find them to be very loud (or I'm deaf).

When I wanted to make up stainless headers, I ordered 90 degree bends and flanges from them. For the sidepipe flange, I just made a rubbing of the sidepipe and faxed it to them. Came out perfect.

I have ceramic sidepipes on my car and the other day I took it out for lunch and some lady was looking at it and leaned in too far and her pants sizzled a little bit on my sidepipes!!

I didn't realize until I got home and then had to clean it off--and it wasn't easy

I have what is probably a real stupid question but hopefully one of you knowledgeable guys can answer it. I have read that ceramic coated headers reduce the temp under the hood. Is this true? Also, would it look terrible if I had ceramic headers and stainless sidepipes? or could you ceramic coat the stainless headers just to the point where they leave the engine bay?

I'll second the recommendation for the Buckshot side pipes. These are very well made and will increase the performance. I have two sets of mufflers, one for track and making noise and the other for my normal cruising.

Very pleased with the product.

Yes the ceramic coating will reduce the underhood temps. Ceramic coated headers and polished SS side pipes is the way to go. IMO
