Steering Wheel Horn?
Has anyone retrofitted their stock SPF steering wheel with a horn kit in the center? Tony Branda and Finishline both said they didn't have one, which suprised me. I've had one too many near misses where I couldn't get to the dash mounted horn button to ward off some french-fry-eating, cellphone-talking teenager. If anyone has photos and/or a contact.

Though it's actually a good idea, you almost have to drive these cars like it's a four-wheeled Harley. Always alert...checking your six constantly. Other drivers go dumb (and numb) when they see a Cobra. The part that scares me the most are the ones that radically speed up/catch up to get a closer look. They are too busy watching you and not the light up ahead that is turning yellow to red.
One idea is to use a Hurst ball shifter that has a nitrous switch at the thumb position. Just wire in the horn instead. Hmmmm...I think I've stumbled onto something!

Dean...I know exactly what you mean! I was driving along down a major East-West thoroughfare in Memphis a couple of years ago, on my way to Home Depot. There was a flatbed bob-truck pacing me with several Hispanic folks on it, along with a load of mulch, some wheelbarrows, and the tools needed for that sort of endeavor...I'm sure you get the picture. They were all pointing at my car, waving, chatting excitedly, etc....including the driver! We were approaching a stop light, but since there was no one in my lane, I didn't slow down since the light had changed green. Folks in the other lane were already pulling through the intersection, so I knew I could keep on going. Too bad the truck load of yard workers didn't notice the ragtop BMW 3-series stopped in front of them. Sure enough...I kept going....they kept looking....BAM! Right into the back end of the Bimmer. Slung a couple of the workers off the truck....some of the mulch, etc. 
I just kept on going....

Had a 20-something dude giving me the thumbs up in the next lane and as we approached an intersection, my lane was clear, his wasn't, but he didn't see that Volvo in front of him until the very last second. CRUNCH!
I'll be yanking the choke off my carb so that will free up a switch spot to the left of the steering column, at least that would be closer for the horn button. Maybe it's just the reach.
Maybe I just need to clean out my sidepipes and not leave anything to chance. Make sure EVERYONE knows I'm there...
