SWI engine mounts, awesome!
I just installed my new SWI engine mounts. Hands down one of my favorite changes to date.
perfect in design with exact alignment and I mean exact
highest quality craftsmanship
comes with directions
comes with high quality mounting hardware
even comes with thread lock
customer support awesome
car handles better
car has tighter shifts, wicked tight solid!
minimal vibration transfer, I have light weight flywheel, so a touch at idle
Sorry my engine was dusty for the picture.

Thanks for the update on this, Greg. Right click...save as...
You mentioned better handling. Don't you get more torque to the chassis with the rigid mounting? I would think you would get a rotational effect on the chassis...i.e, more "plant" on the right side at the expense of more "lift" on the left (driver's side). Please explain and educate me!
Thanks,
-Dean

The old mounts were polyurethane with enough movement to allow my side pipes at exit from body point to touch under hard acceleration, quick shifts, hard left corners at the track under acceleration and such. With this imagine the engine of several hundred lbs swaying or suddenly moving about all of the time. The The momentum of that continues when the engine can't go any further. Reducing engine movement reduces swaying action.
Another way to achieve less movement would be to have a cross member from a strong and solid non-engine location to the engine. The import world does this all of the time with a rigid shock absorber. It keep the engine from making sudden movement and swaying. here's a search for one on a 3rd generation Rx-7. I had one on my Rx-7 years ago. They work very good and transfer very minimal amounts of vibration. If there would have been one of these for my Cobra I would have purchased it.

I understand what you said for drag racing applications...just never figured it offered benefits for turning right and left as well. Too bad our cars don't have much "meat" (i.e. rigid attaching points) above the frame rails, otherwise fabbing a bracket to make that RX7 piece work would be a snap. Perhaps one could figure out something from the upper A-arm, but I'll have to go to the garage to see if that is even an option.
Thanks again for the response.

Hey Greg, did your motor always move like that, or was it the result of all or one of your mods you did to your car (headers, carb, sidepipes, dragradials, etc)? I have a similar motor in my car as you (roush 427R) without any of the mods. Just wondering what to expect. Did not know if this was a common thing. Thanks for all the info...again. haha

I've done all of my changes one at a time, so it's hard to say what did what, but The Pro-Systems carb and Mickey Thompson ET street drag radials were the most notable improvements.
I'd be happy to head out to the drag strip with other Superformance 427Rs if anyone wants to go. Just let me know. It would be fun. 480-661-0111

Can you tell me where I can get a set of these and how much they'll cost?
They look fantastic!
