Actually, those tires will fit on the older cars as well in 17 inch form, with the proper backspace. I have car #298 and I have 11" wide wheels with 315's on the back, fit like a glove.

So what are the measurements ? rim width ? back space? Rear axel width ? who made the rims wider and how much for the custom work ? oh, Semper Fi your cobra should be revoked for having a garage like that.

I try to keep the garage neat--it's still a "work in progress"

Looking to upgrade tires. and potentially rims.

Did you guys stick with these tire combos?

Would you do anything differently?

I also have the 335/35 17 on mine.

If I remember right they are 11.5" width PSE.

Great wheel and tire work there! I have 275/40-17" on the front and 335/35-17" on the rear and if I get the ride height too low I can smell rubber over bumps.

Not all tires are created equal with respect to width as advertised. My 315/35/17 Goodrich F1 D3's are the same width as my 335/35/17 PS2s. My 335/30/18 PS2s are almost 1/2 inch wider than the same tire in 17s. My Kumho XS 315/35/17's are a good inch narrower than the F1s in the same advertised size.

Can anyone confrim if the Vintage HA02 15" wheels will work on a #1867 car? These are advertised as 5 pin using a 15X7.5 front and a 15X95. rear. THis kit is less adapters and I was hoping to use my spinners ect from my current PSE 17" wheels that are on the car now. I want to run 325-50-15's as others have done in this thread.

I spoke with Bob at Vintage today and he told me that they could machine 3/8 out of the rear wheels in order to provide the 4" backspacing as Greg S. mentioned he was running earlier in the thread. Does anyone have any input or anything someone thinks I may be overlooking.

On an SPF, you just have to be careful with the inner wheel well clearance, meaning inside the wheel well below the outer roll bar mount on the driver's side, and the same general area on the passenger side. If you get any interference, that's where it will be. Also depends on the tire you run. Billboards have a bulging sidewall and tend to sit wider on the wheel as a result. Too much offset may cause interference. Avons (and most radials in general) tend to sit taller and more square, essentially giving you more room to work with.

I am looking at both the Nitto NT555R's and MT ET street R rears and ET street SS for the front. I am trying my best not to mix and match tires but it is difficult. The Nittos could work but they only offer a 275-50-15 and 275-60-15 that could be used for the front. MT offers a 325-50-15 in their ET street R series and then a 255-60-15 in there ET Street SS. All the above are radials.
