SPF Hood Scoop Change
Anyone change out their SPF hood scoop to one like that offered by Cobra Restorers for the Weber carb setup? It's wider and taller.
I've been fighting to figure a way to close my hood with the K&N individual 48 IDA filters and they are too wide and a bit too tall. Since I have the earlier version SPF, my hood does not have the enhanced hood curvature which would make this a mute issue.
Looks like the only way to go other than cutting the velocity stacks from 2 1/2" to 1 1/2." Engine is down about as far as I can drop it. I'm not sure how 1 1/2" stacks would look.
Any help, especially if you made the mod would be appreciated. The Restorer scoop is aluminum and I would have to have the original fiberglass scoop cut off. Hate to go that way.
Help!!
