Default Leaking Clutch

I was out driving today, (nothing too fast) and on the way home noticed a difference in the clutch pedal feel and a squealing sound (almost like a squeaky fan belt) with clutch pedal depression. The squeal would sometimes persist after the shift. Seeing as I was about 25 miles from home I pulled into an apartment complex to investigate. There was fluid leaking from the hydraulic fitting on the clutch actuator (? correct term) I tried to tighten it up with the tools I carry but the engine and headers were hot. I checked to fluid reservoir and although down a little, seemed fine. I had to get home so drove home with minimal clutch usage. The clutch pedal still feels like there is less travel and will engage almost immediately when you start to release the clutch. Has this happened to anybody? Do you think it could be the hydraulic actuator or simply an air leak in the hydraulic line? I know that this could be almost anything but please help. By the way I only have 1300 miles on her so should not be a worn out part although I often double clutch.
Thanks
Randy

Sounds like your talking about the clutch slave cylinder. If you have a fluid leak, it probably sucked in some air too. This would cause your pedal to feel weird. Fix your leak, and bleed the system of air.

Thanks Powershift. I guess it is called the slave cylinder. I have it up on jack stands now but my wife wants to go out this afternoon so I can't get much done today. May have to wait until the middle of the week. I'll have to draft some friends to help bleed the system. What kind of fluid is used? The owner's manual does not specify.
