Default Dana Rear Differential Issues

I just had SPF 2560 out Autocrossing and found that the limited slip differential does not work very well. On righthand corners the right rear tire would just spin. Superformance states that it is a limited slip differential, but it feels like my last car when the limited slip went out. Have any of you had problems with the limited slip in the Dana? I don't have much info yet. I am guessing it is a clutch type, has anyone upgraded to a gear type (and which one)?

I would also like to change my rear gear ratio. I don't see any other ratios listed for these Dana's. Has anyone changed theirs, and what ratios are available?

Thanks,

Ken 2560

Did you first notice the problem when you took the car out autocrossing? Will SPF cover the part under warranty?

I thought SPFs had a Ford 8.8 in them, not a Dana?

The newer ones have a Dana, I don't know what number they made this change on.

I found this problem at the first Auto-X. I did not notice it on the street, but I don't drive the same on the street as I do auto-Xing. I have to contact them regarding warranty work, not sure what they will say. I just can't let this take to long to get fixed.

Thanks,

Ken 2560

It is not "technically" a Dana as a Jag rearend might be. It is more appropriately an Australian Dana which, those down under can correct me, is a BTR Hydratrac(k?). I haven't seen much info on how they are, or aren't, different than say a Dana 44. Or even if any parts or interchangeable between the 2. I yould be pressing for a warranty resolution as well. This may be voided if rear lubes were changed and not using the correct lube or additive. That wouldn't seem like something needing done so early.
