A few questions from the new guy....
Hi Everyone -
Hoping my Roush is ready for pick up this week. A few questions I havent been able to find the answers for.
1) Shoulder Harnesses - this one is frustrating me. Spent 15 minutes looking at my friends car on a hoist, and we couldnt see where his shoulder harness mount to so I can install some in mine. I saw the thread stating to look for the slot on the behind the seats...i think i found those...but the thread mentioned that the harnesses hook into the top frame. Neither one of us could see anything there. Any help or pics? Did we need to remove the wheels to get a closer peek? Is there deadspace between the rear "firewall" and the front of the boot? This one should be simple to me and I know I'll kick myself once the answer is found.
2) SCOF - i applied to SCOF almost a month ago and havent heard or received anything. Does anyone know if anyone is still doing the admin work? I heard there is tons of useful stuff and would sure like to take a peek before my install.
3) Install - anything you wish you would have had done prior to install? Some helpful tips received already were - heatshield near the header and brake/clutch line. Should I change the brake /clutch fluid to dot 4? Anything else before the drop?
Thanks a bunch to the great group here!

As an aside, how long is the delivery time from order on Roush engines now?

Hi Swift - ordered on 9/17. I was advised they had an issue with some parts being on backorder, but i think they are slammed with engine orders right now (which is a good thing considering the Detroit economy right now). I was advised 2-3 weeks is norm. I will post another thread on the tour they gave me too. Awesome experience.

SCOF is active and full of information, tech articles, how-to's, Yahoo group advice etc. Processing of apps typically I understand is 4-6 weeks. Mine took about 6 weeks as I recall. Congrats on the SPF

I sent a note to the administrator for you. Sometimes they may wait until actual delivery, but the SCOF membership is worth waiting for either way.

Gorgeous car, ekrupa2. Especially like the paint scheme.
On the harness mount:
Remove the wheels and squeeze up in the wheelwell and between the rear firewall and the trunk wall, there is a horizontal frame member, maybe 1 1/2" square. Attach to the top of that member, bolting all the way through it. Don't have any pics, but have seen it.
I'd send another email to SCOF at superformance@yahoogroups.com. They can be a grumpy group but have the best technical knowledge anywhere. Unbelievable the things these guys know. Several of them make their own upgrade/replacement parts. But they don't take kindly to novice questions so try and come across like a wrencher and not a waxer.

Take a razor blade and from inside the wheel well you will need to cut a slit in the carpet to push the harness bracket through. Very easy to install.

Go to;
http://www.performanceunlimited.com/...beraccess.html
There is a button half way down to request a non member pasword for the tech area access...
And for the record, we share our knowledge with other owners anytime all the time on SCOF. There is a nice paper on the shoulder harness instalation procedure...email me if you have a problem with installation.
Check your email...

Guys...thank you for all the help. Blas just took care of me with a PDF...now i see what I didnt see with the wheel on. Well it will give me practice taking the spinners off. Also, just to clarify, I did take delivery of the car, its the engine I am waiting on. The excitement is building, but it has been difficult for me as the car is at my friends garage (he has a lift, hoist, etc) so i cant easily peek out my door at look at it. The plus side is we have his car next to it so we will have a duplicate to look at when doing the install.
Regarding SCOF, I'll try the non-owners route first. I didnt realize it could take four to six weeks. Plus i may have confused SCOF with Second Strike. Looking back at them both today, looks like they have different registration pages.
Thanks!
Mad - love the "cars" on your gallery.

SCOF and Second Strike are two different things.
Second Strike is a Registry for Superformance Owners and also contains some limited technical information.
SCOF is the Superformance Owners Forum website and you must have possesion of you SPF to join. It takes a while to get registration cleared on SCOF because it is not a business, it run by one person.
Registering on one does not register you on the other.
Neither site is operated by Superformance.

Ekrupa2,
Another site you should check out is http://performanceunlimited.com/
Also Finish Line http://www.finishlineaccessories.com/ and Tony Branda http://www.cobranda.com/ All full of Cobra goodies.
Not sure when the "cars" in my Gallery went so off track. One of those evenings with my buddy Sam Adams, I guess.
Ryan, I'm not going to comment on SCOF. I'll leave it to each to have their own experience.
